CPR Training Yields Safer Job Sites

Posted: September 27, 2017

A recent article in Safety + Health magazine reported that a National Safety Council survey of 3,000 U.S. workers revealed that more than half of the workforce does not have basic first aid or CPR training.

Over 10,000 cardiac arrest situations and other workplace injuries take place each year, but most workers cannot even locate their AED defibrillator, much less provide basic medical attention.

In emergency situations, trained peers can administer CPR and basic first aid until professional medical personnel arrive on the scene. The time between an accident and when an ambulance arrives presents a small but critical window to save workers’ lives. Training employees to administer CPR and first aid can create a safer environment for workers on job sites.

More than 90% of workers said they would take CPR classes if offered in their office. Most workers also believe that training to administer CPR and first aid is the “right thing to do,” so that coworkers can rely on one another.

CPR and First Aid training classes only take a few hours. Our CORE team is equipped to provide live training at the location of your choice. Click here to learn more about CORE’s instructor-led course offerings and click here to read more from Safety + Health.
