The Basic Rigging and Inspection course is an introductory level training designed to provide participants with essential knowledge of rigging gear inspections, selection, and sizing. Participants can also expect to cover topics such as proper rigging procedures and load control using common rigging techniques throughout this eight-hour training.

This Basic Rigging and Inspection training is an eight-hour introductory level training covering a vast scope of rigging operations, gear selection, sizing, and inspection criteria. Designed for participants working with and around ringing operations, this course provides a firm foundational knowledge of determining the correct gear and use thereof on rigging sites. Specific course topics are reinforced through supplemental workbooks and include the following:

  • Types of rigging operations and different rigging hardware
  • Basic inspection criteria for varying types of slings and rigging hardware
  • The different types of hitches and appropriate use scenarios
  • Applying calculations to determine the capacity of different hitches
  • Comparing sling protection options
